Andréia Poppi Maia

Andréia Poppi has been in ELT for more than 20 years. She has acted in different contexts such as language schools, her own English school and since 2011 she has been working as a self-employed teacher. Andréia holds a postgraduate degree in English Language Teaching and also Cambridge English Proficiency, TKTs, the CELTA (Grade A) and Train the Trainer. Her experience as a Cambridge oral examiner and teacher trainer has also added enormously to her career as an ELT professional. As an active member of Braz-Tesol, Brazil’s largest association of teachers of English to speakers of other languages, she is currently the president of the Braz-Tesol Maringá Chapter, board member of the ESP SIG – English for Specific Purposes Special Interest Group, and was elected for a position in the Advisory Council of the national board.

SUCCEEDING AS AN ELT PROFESSIONAL GOES FAR BEYOND LOVING MY JOB. IT IS ALL ABOUT THOMAS EDISON’S QUOTE “1% INSPIRATION AND 99% PERSPIRATION”.
